The pen set comes with a blue pouch, with a gold 'SHEAFFER'S' stationery clip and a guarantee and instruction paper. At the section is the original intact chalk mark reads 'X MED. 12.50'; and on the pencil the original price tag is still intact reads 'X $5.00'. These shows that the pen has never been inked or used before; is highly sought after new old stock. The pen bears a Sheaffer's Triumph 14ct solid gold nib. History of Sheaffer's During the bank panic of 1873, Walter’s father, Jacob, had no alternative but to sell his jewelry store, and faced with virtual poverty, eleven year old Walter went to work.
