Elegant, antique, rocking chair salvaged from Northeastern Pennsylvania. It was made by, "American Chair Mfg. Co." sometime around the first half of the previous century. It's made of solid wood (most likely walnut) and has a seat cushion upholstered with a floral-patterned fabric. Since the fabric looks newer, it's mo.
Elegant, antique, rocking chair salvaged from Northeastern Pennsylvania. It was made by, American Chair Mfg. Co. sometime around the first half of the previous century. It's made of solid wood (most likely walnut) and has a seat cushion upholstered with a floral-patterned fabric. Since the fabric looks newer, it's most likely not original. I'm guessing the chair originally had a caned seat as that was typical for a chair of this style. Our carpenter inspected the chair from top to bottom, and didn't need to make any repairs, nor needed to reinforce anything. All of the joints are tight, and there is no looseness at any point. The chair is clean with very few nicks and light scratches. The fabric is free of rips, holes, stains, or odors. This chair is strong, sturdy, and ready for another lifetime of service! Dimensions Seat: 16W (front) & 13 (back) x 12 3/4D Height (from floor to): (Seat) 15 3/4 (Top of backrest) 32 1/4 Backrest height: 21 Blades: 27 3/4 Shipping * UPS/FedEx have a balloon rate once a package goes over 130 (longest side +2(width) +2(depth)). With the current dimensions, I don't think we could make it under 130 and still properly pad the chair to protect it in transit. We may have to remove the blades in order to make it. If we do, they are easy to put back on with a flathead screwdriver. Each blades has 2 screws. * If you are able to pick up in Scranton, PA let us know and we'll reduce the price by $80. That's about how much it will cost to ship to anywhere in the Eastern half of the US.
