The beginnings of the coffee percolator date all the way back to 1810 when Benjamin Thompson began tinkering around with the food choices of soldiers in the Bavarian Army. He was the one to realize the effect that coffee offered in perking men up and devised a rudimentary transportable coffee pot. Fast forward throughout the 19th century and a Frenchman, an American, and eventually, an Illinois farmer all made improvements to the original coffee percolator design that we are familiar with today.

This vintage aluminum Comet coffee percolator was made during the 1960s by Comet Aluminum an ever-popular component to the vintage kitchen of yesteryear. Most often, Comet coffee pots came in the traditional silver and black combination, but a midcentury color series also debuted that included brick red, avocado green, teal blue, and this sunshiney shade of yellow.

Still a very functional item to have on hand in the kitchen or if you are camping or picnicking outdoors, all this pot needs is coffee grounds and hot water and you'll be on your way to caffeinated bliss in no time!

{CONDITION}

In fully functional condition. Clean interior, light scuff mark on front side. We think, originally, this is where a product sticker was affixed.

{SIZE}

Measures 7 inches tall x 7.5 inches (width -spout to handle). Clean interior with just light coffee staining on the interior bottom. All accessory pieces are in great shape and very clean. There are no chips or cracks on the glass knob. Please see photos.

Totally useful if the power goes out or if you want to brew fresh coffee while exploring the wilderness, this aluminum container also makes a fun watering can for your patio plants, a great storage holder for your kitchen utensils, or a vase for your table centerpiece floral bouquet.
